The New Immigrant’s Hall volunteer team is our partner on the first line in serving new immigrant families. The smiles and warmth of the volunteers are the biggest support and strength for our new immigrant friends. The New Immigrant’s Hall specially held a one-day volunteer camp on the warm and joyous Christmas night to invite new immigrants and the residence of Taipei City to join the volunteer family and become part of Taipei City's most culturally diverse and energetic volunteer team!
During the event, the Department of Civil Affairs and Taipei e-Campus collaborated to compile various cultural micro-courses and introduced employment and learning services on Taipei City New Immigrant Area website. Through the courses, participants were able to learn about wonderful cultures and also got to know the needs of new immigrants living in Taiwan and had a preliminary understanding of volunteer service. The participants also made Christmas wreaths together. Fragrant cedar spruces, beautiful pinecones, and slices of yellow dried tangerine, every bit of material seemed to have absorbed the sunshine and emitted warmth like the sun during crafting process. The one-day volunteer experience not only provided intellectual knowledge, but also emotional communication. It also allowed each participant to get to know the volunteer team of the New Immigrants’ Hall and become part of the team.
