I’m experiencing financial difficulties following a divorce and would like to inquire if there are any school lunch subsidies available for children of new immigrants?
To ensure students' nutrition and health, the Taipei City Government allocates a budget each year to provide lunch subsidies for students from elementary to senior high school. Students who are registered in Taipei City and meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for lunch subsidies each semester: 1.Public Elementary and Junior High Schools in Taipei City (1) Students from "low-income households" approved by the Department of Social Welfare. (2) Children from "middle- to low-income households" approved by the Department of Social Welfare. (3) Students experiencing financial difficulties due to sudden family changes and evaluated by the school as needing lunch assistance. (4) Indigenous students. (5) Students with disabilities (must hold a valid disability certificate issued by the Social Affairs Bureau, regardless of the level of disability). 2. Public and Private Senior High Schools in Taipei City (1) Students from "low-income households" approved by the Department of Social Welfare. (2) Students experiencing financial hardship due to sudden family changes and assessed by the school as needing lunch assistance. 3. Students from low-income households registered in Taipei City but attending senior high schools in other counties or cities. 4. Students from low-income households registered in Taipei City and attending a vocational school from the first to third year of study nationwide.
