Foreigners in Taiwan Hotline 1990 (5-9)
To assist new residents in Taiwan with their daily needs, adaptation, and related support services, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) has established the “Foreigners in Taiwan Hotline 1990.” This free service provides professional assistance on matters such as visas, residency, entry and exit, employment, taxation, health insurance, transportation, social welfare, children's education, medical care, and personal safety. The hotline is available in seven languages: Chinese, English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Khmer. Service hours: Chinese, English, Japanese: Available 24/7 Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Khmer: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Closed on national holidays and other official days off) We warmly encourage all new residents who need help or information to take advantage of this free and helpful service.
