I. Discover the Beauty of the Spring Equinox – Woven Basket and Floral

Art Workshop

This course invites experienced weaving artists, skilled in patterned woven tapes fromboth domestic and international backgrounds, along with a floral design instructor

with over forty years of teaching experience. Participants will explore cultural

meanings and motifs expressed through woven patterns from different traditions. As the program takes place during the Beitou calla lily season, participants will

transform their handmade woven baskets into unique floral containers. Using callalilies as the centerpiece, the floral instructor will introduce Beitou’s distinctive local

flowers and demonstrate how to harmonize floral arrangements with woven designs. This hands-on experience offers not only artistic skills but also a deeper appreciationof Beitou’s natural beauty. Program Dates: March 10 (Tue) and March 13 (Fri), 13:30–16:30 (Total: 6 hours)

II. The Fermentation Witch’s Magic Jar – Caoshan Citrus Jamand

Vegetable Fermentation Workshop

Step into the magical world of fermentation and rediscover the flavors of Beitou! This

workshop integrates food and agricultural education with local farming culture. Participants will work alongside an organic farmer passionate about fruit andvegetable fermentation. Participants will learn about the historical development of agriculture in Beitou, explore seasonal local produce, and discover creative culinary applications inspired

by regional terroir. The course aims to cultivate diverse interests and practical skills

among new immigrant residents. Program Dates: March 26 (Thu) and March 31 (Tue), 13:30–16:30 (Total: 6 hours)
