Every year on June 30th, locals hold a parade to remember the Battle of (Batalla de San Marcial)in 1522, when Spanish and French forces fought hard, with Spain winning in the end.


Participants dressed in white shirts, black jackets, and red hats march through the city streets carrying musical instruments, rifles, or weapons. The whole city is filled with a joyful atmosphere as locals wear traditional costumes and come together to celebrate this event rich in history and national pride.
