Founded in 2014, HSNU CTG is dedicated to exploring the world through the lens of transportation and geography. With the spirit of “Learning through exploration, the world as our classroom,” we go beyond textbooks to discover how transportation shapes our cities and lives. As one of the few high school clubs in Taiwan focusing on both transportation and geography, we actively connect with similar organizations to expand our network. Through reports, field studies, and summer and winter training camps, members develop deeper understanding and awareness of transportation and geography. In addition, by planning events, leading club sessions, and handling documentation, members cultivate transferable skills that benefit their future endeavors. In recent years, Taiwan has seen increasing discussions on topics such as people-centered transportation, high-speed rail expansion, spatial planning, and net-zero transition. We hope our members will apply what they have learned in the club to contribute their expertise to society and the nation. In our club‐internal curriculum, besides learning about railway systems in various countries around the world, we also explore maritime transport, highway traffic planning, air traffic control, and other diverse topics. In addition to exchanges with high-school peer clubs, we also hold joint sessions with clubs such as the NTU Rail and the NTNU RGC to run joint classes and share insights across transportation and geography. Our club has organized a variety of off-campus activities, including visits to the Beitou MRT Depot, summer training trips around Taiwan, visits to the National Railway Museum, plane-watching at Airplane Alley, and winter training on the Alishan Forest Railway, among others. We even appeared on the Hakka TV show “Intern Go! S7 EP1 – Running After the Train” where we built train models, tried driving a train simulator, and rode the Keelung–Shen’ao Line to discover local scenery and culture.
