Pink Church in Vietnam - Tan Dinh Church
The Tan Dinh Church, known as the "Pink Church" of Vietnam, was built during the French colonial period and completed in 1876. Initially, the church’s design was similar to most others, with a solemn, all-white exterior. However, after several expansions and renovations, the church’s exterior was painted pink (salmon red) in 1957, which is the vibrant look it has today. It is now one of the most iconic and visited landmarks in Ho Chi Minh City.
The elegant traditional clothing of Vietnam
Refers to the traditional dress of the Kinh ethnic group and historical garments. Historically, Vietnam had a wide range of clothing styles, including the famous "Ao Dai" and the "Four-body Robe," which were common everyday attire for the people.
Bali - The Gate of Heaven at Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang
Pura Penataran Agung Lempuyang, commonly known as Lempuyang Temple, is one of the most popular Hindu temples on Bali. The Gate of Heaven is located at one of the seven temple sites within this temple complex, which is the third largest and one of the oldest temples on the island. During the sunset when the sky is painted red, the view from the Gate of Heaven offers a breathtaking sight of Mount Agung (Gunung Agung), a sacred mountain revered by the locals, evoking a sense of holiness and awe.
Batik
Batik is the traditional clothing of Indonesia, made from silk or cotton fabric. It is known for its vibrant colors and beautiful patterns, showcasing distinct ethnic characteristics. Batik is commonly worn at formal events and dinners. Civil servants also wear short-sleeved youth outfits, and for significant events, they typically wear Batik or a suit.
Manila - The Dessert Museum
The Manila Dessert Museum has 8 themed exhibition zones, each offering a unique dessert experience, from an ice cream made of balloons and a cotton candy rainbow arch to a giant donut slide. With vibrant colors and unique artistic installations, it feels like stepping into a dreamy fairytale world.
The men's national attire in the Philippines
In the Philippines, the men's national costume, Barong Tagalog, is a shirt without pockets, adorned with embroidered floral patterns. It is typically worn without a tie. The women's national dress, Baro’t Saya, is a short-sleeved, floor-length gown with either a round or square neckline. The skirt is wide, and the sleeves are high and stiff, resembling butterfly wings, which is why it is also called the "butterfly dress." Filipinos often wear national costumes for formal events, weddings, and for men's daily work attire.
Thailand-The Maeklong Railway Market
The Maeklong Railway Market, located about 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok in Maeklong, is a unique food market set along the railway tracks. Vendors usually set up their stalls next to the tracks, but when they hear a train approaching, they quickly pack up and move aside. Once the train has passed, they quickly set up again, making this railway market a unique and fascinating attraction.
Thai traditional clothing (ชุดไทย)
The traditional Thai attire (ชุดไทย) is a beautiful and elegant costume worn by both adults and children. Historically, both Thai men and women wore a piece of clothing called the "phasin," a wraparound cloth. For men, it covered the waist down to the upper thigh, while for women, it extended from the waist to just below the knee.
Malaysia-Georgetown
Georgetown, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the main tourist area of Penang. It has preserved the Nyonya architecture from the 17th century, which was once home to the Straits Chinese. The government has invited numerous artists to express their creativity in this preserved district, resulting in many captivating murals that have become a major attraction. The most famous one is the mural of a brother and sister riding a bicycle together — make sure to snap a photo when you visit!
Batik
Batik is the term for the traditional wax-dyeing technique, and the long-sleeved "Batik" shirt is regarded as Malaysia's national dress. These shirts are usually made from floral wax-dyed fabrics and are worn in formal social events. The traditional men's attire in Malaysia is the "baju melayu," a loose-fitting tunic worn over long pants, usually paired with a "sampin," a short sarong worn around the hips. Women typically wear a collarless, long-sleeved dress, paired with a headscarf. In social settings, Malaysians may also wear suits or skirts. The preferred colors for Malaysian clothing include red, orange, and other vibrant hues.
While visiting the exhibition, you'll have the chance to explore five exotic destinations in a hands-on way. With a graffiti-inspired art style, the exhibition invites you to experience a laid-back and fun-filled journey. Make sure to jot it down and prepare for your next simple and light adventure!
