I. Recognition and Handling Procedures for Advanced Education of New Immigrants:

1. Mainland China (Recognition of High School and Junior High School):

a. Handle the issuance of equivalent academic credentials based on the " The

Regulations Governing the Accreditation of Schools in Mainland China " issued by

the Ministry of Education.

b. For those who are registered or reside in Taipei City, please bring mainland

educational credentials, Republic of China (Taiwan) national ID card (or household

registration transcript, Resident Certificate), mainland notarized documents and

certificates from the Straits Exchange Foundation (original copies), and two 2-inch

photos to the Education Bureau for processing.

c. Contact telephone (extension) for application for academic credentials issuance: 1999

(outside Taipei City 27208889) for high schools, vocational schools, and junior high

schools: Secondary Education Division, extension 6365.

2. Southeast Asia (Recognition of Junior High School Education):

a. For those who are registered or reside in Taipei City, please bring academic

credentials documents (graduation or completion certificates, or academic

transcripts), Republic of China (Taiwan) national ID card (or household registration

transcript, Resident Certificate), and two 2-inch photos to the local office for

processing.

b. Contact telephone (extension) for application for academic credentials issuance: 1999

(outside Taipei City 27208889) for high schools, vocational schools, and junior high

schools: Secondary Education Division, extension 6365.

3. Other Countries and Regions (including Hong Kong, Macau):

  According to the " Education and Work Experience Verification Regulation" and the "

Regulations Governing the Examination and Recognition of Educational Records from

Hong Kong and Macao" translate foreign educational credentials into Chinese and submit

them to the local Taiwan representative office for verification.
