Is there a time limit for using YouBike? What happens if a YouBike member does not return the bike for an extended period of time?
Currently, there is no specific time limit set for using YouBike. However, to remind users about their rental duration and minimize disputes over charges due to unreturned bikes, an SMS notification will be sent if the bike has not been returned within 4 hours. The rental system checks for unreturned bikes every hour and sends SMS alerts to users who have exceeded the 4-hour mark. To avoid disturbing users during nighttime hours, SMS notifications are only sent between 8 AM and 10 PM. Users are reminded that rentals exceeding 4 hours are subject to progressive rates. If there is no further need for the bike, please return it as soon as possible. In the case of suspected theft, the police may be contacted to assist in the investigation.
