On June 23, the Weekend Cultural and Tourism Salon event was held at the Shilin New Immigrants’ Hall. Joe, a teacher from Madagascar, introduced the culture, scenic beauty, and cuisine of his home.

When you think of Madagascar, do you picture wild zebras and giraffes? Well, Joe surprised us by revealing that Madagascar doesn't have any of those! Instead, this unique island is home to a diverse family of lemurs.

During the event, Joe also introduced us to the renowned Avenue of the Baobabs in Madagascar and showcased the island's untouched natural beauty. To top it off, we had the opportunity to savor the flavors of Madagascan traditional cuisine, known as Bononoka.
