Every family has its own cross to bear. People from different life backgrounds have different family management problems. For new immigrants from different countries to form a family, it is conceivable how difficult it is to run a family. The situation of new immigrants in foreign families is likely as the Hokkien people say, "The bride's livelihood adaptation, will not be that easy." The situation of the new immigrants from different cultures and countries is indeed facing an insurmountable problem at home.
New immigrants from Southeast Asia, if they are married through dating agency, their status in Taiwan’s family is often based on doing housework or taking care of the old and the young. The status in the family is relatively low, and they cannot make decisions on their own. Such kind of family status makes it difficult for the new immigrant to raise their children, which seriously affects the normal personality development of the children. Therefore, on school campus, we find that children brought up by such families are generally timid, have poor academic performance, and are silent.
There is an impressive case in counseling the new immigrant families. I really personally admire her positive thinking and positive movement, which can be used as a reference for such new immigrant families. This new immigrant is from Vietnam. She used to work as a domestic helper in a Taiwanese family. The neighbors at that time observed that this lady was diligent and neat, so they introduced her to his son as a wife, and she became a new immigrant of Taiwan. Just married into a Taiwanese family, the family really treats her as a foreign helper, taking care of housework, cooking three meals a day, taking care of the sick father-in-law and sister-in-law and husband who suffer from mental illness. Life is harder than the original domestic worker. But this new immigrant has always faced positive thinking and positive actions. After many years, the mother-in-law and sister-in-law started to admire her and trust her. Before the mother-in-law passed away, the financial competence was handed over to her, which shows that the efforts of this new immigrant are convincing, and it can be said that the hard work has paid off. For example, taking care of my sister-in-law and husband, such as feeding medicines and seeing a doctor on time day after day, has kept the condition stable; the housework is organized in an orderly manner, clean and comfortable; in order to integrate into Taiwanese society as soon as possible, she participated in various volunteer services at the school and was elected as a class representative; literacy classes for adults; participating in meal delivery for the elderly living alone at their own expense... This lady's attitude is also very humble and polite, and her positive actions are admirable.
From her own child, I can see a confidently attitude and positive learning behavior shown by the child, who can accept various challenges and experiences, and is welcome of interacting with peers. Personally, I think it is because of the influence of the positive attitude of the new immigrant mother. Due to what children learn from their mothers is not only teaching by words but also teaching by example. The influence that children can see in their eyes is insensible and positive. Therefore, no matter what your status is, your attitude in dealing with things must be positive thinking and actions in order to break through difficulties and turn all suffering into joy.
