The central government has announced that the Moderna BA.4/5 vaccine is now eligible for children aged over 6 months and under 6 years, starting from May 16, 2023. The vaccination recommendations and procedures are as follows:

1. Age and eligibility for vaccination:

a) Children aged over 6 months and under 6 years who have received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

b) Children aged over 5 years and under 6 years who have received the first BNT vaccine or booster shot.

c) Moderna BA.4/5 vaccine is not for children aged over 6 months and under 5 years who have received the BNT vaccine.

2. Number of doses: The Moderna BA.4/5 vaccine is a booster shot, and should be at least 12 weeks (84 days) apart from the last or previous administered COVID-19 vaccination.

3. Vaccination location: Contracted COVID-19 medical institutions within Taipei City.
