Class lessons included phrases and folk songs frequently heard in daily Taiwanese life. Interactive activities were incorporated to help students understand context and improve conversational skill, enabling new immigrants to speak Taiwanese with family and neighbors. The class also organized a parent-child ecological and cultural activity. Students were able to improve their family relationships while learning Taiwanese and about the local history and environment
