Q1. If I don’t participate in the Comprehensive Assessment Program, can I still apply for the open admission?
Yes. Keelung and the Greater Taipei Area open admission 1) school preferences, 2) student diverse learning performances, 3) comprehensive assessment (students can score maximum 36 points in each category, 108 total pints) If a student did not take the comprehensive assessment, then the student’s score in this category will be 0 point.
Q2. When students fill out their school preference list, what should be noted? And how do the school preferences convert to ranking score? - Students applied for open admission to schools in Keelung and the Greater Taipei Area can fill in maximum 30 schools on the preference list.
- Students applying for open admissions and special enrollment in Keelung and the Greater Taipei Area can fill in 30+1 on the preference list.
- Students applying exclusively for the special enrollment can only fill in 1 school on the preference list.
- Students can mix regular high schools and vocational high schools on the preference list.
- If a student selected a vocational high school or a regular high school with a vocational school component attached, the student can fill in multiple majors from the same school. When different majors from the same schools are listed continuously on the preference list, those majors will only take up one spot on the preference list and holds the same ranking score. The maximum ranking score is 36 points. Preference 1 to 5 is 36 points, spot 6 to 10 is 35 points, preference 11 to 15 is 34 points, preference 16 to 20 is 33 points, and preference 21 to 30 is 32 points. When different majors from the same schools are listed continuously on the preference list, those majors will only take up one spot on the preference list.
For example: - If a student selected high school A as preference No. 4, and vocational high school B data processing major and accounting major as preference No. 5 and 6 respectively, then both majors will have a ranking score of 36 points.
- If a student selected vocational high school B data processing major as preference No. 4 (36 points), high school A as preference No. 5 (36 points), and vocational high school B accounting major as preference No. 6, then vocational high school B accounting major will have a ranking score of 35 points. The lower ranking score is because the selected majors are not grouped together.
- When the student application and the preference list are sent out, students cannot ask to change information on the application and the preference list for any reason. Furthermore, the application forms and the preference lists will not be returned to the students regardless whether the student is accepted to a school or not.
