High school students in specialized art programs have four channels to seek college enrollment: special recommendation, Stars Program, personal application, and admission by examination and placement. The channels for high education are as followed (in chronological order):
The special recommendation is between October and December in the first semester of students’ senior year. Because this process takes place before the General Scholastic Ability Test, students are assessed on their subject grade, personal portfolio, and results of participated competition. After students passed the initial assessment, they will go on to an interview. Students eligible for the special recommendation program can also take the General Scholastic Ability Test in January of the following year, and then prepare for the Stars Program in March during the second semester of their senior year to apply for the art programs they like. Students can submit personal applications to colleges (maximum 6 majors) in April for the first phase of college screening and will be screened based on their General Scholastic Ability Test subject scores. After the initial screening, students can prepare for the second phase between May and June. The fourth channel is admission by examination and placement after the Advanced Subjects Test in mid-July. Students should carefully take advantage of every channel to higher education and choose a school that they want to attend the most.
