YouBike 2.0 Bike Console Display Guide

1.Renting a Bike

(1) "Re-position Card": Please extend the time your electronic ticket is scanned, or remove it from your wallet and scan again.

(2) "Card Not Registered": You must first register your electronic ticket as a member card before renting. After successful registration, you may need to wait for 3-5 minutes to rent a bike.

(3) "Card Locked": This indicates an issue with the electronic ticket record. Please call Taipei City customer service at 1999, extension 5855 or 02-8978-8822 (regular charges apply) for assistance.

(4) "Insufficient Balance": Please top up your balance and scan again to rent a bike.

(5) "Card Already Renting": This means there's no record of the bike being returned. If you have returned it, please call Taipei City customer service at 1999, extension 5855 or 02-8978-8822 (regular charges apply) for assistance.

(6)"Renewal Limitation": When the bike console shows "Renewal Limitation," it means there is a restriction on renewing the bike rental. This policy ensures fair usage for all users, prohibiting immediate re-rental at the same station after returning the bike.

(7) "Exceeded Retrieval Time": This message appears when you fail to retrieve the bike within 30 seconds after scanning your electronic ticket. The bike stand will lock again, and the transaction will be canceled. Please return the bike to the dock first, ensure the bike console screen displays "Welcome to YouBike 2.0," and then leave to prevent it from being taken by the next user.

(8) "Bike Temporarily Unavailable": This indicates that the bike is currently out of service. Please choose another bike or go to a different station for rental.

(9) "Deducted N Dollars, Balance N Dollars": This message indicates that the system has deducted the previous rental fee and updated the record. This occurs when your electronic ticket had insufficient balance during the last bike return or the return process was incomplete, causing the system to fail to record it successfully. Therefore, before renting again, please ensure the outstanding amount is deducted and the record is updated.855 or 02-8978-8822 (regular charges apply) for assistance.


2.Returning the Bike
(1) "Insufficient Balance": This message indicates that the balance on the electronic ticket is not enough to cover the current rental fee. Before renting again, please ensure the electronic ticket has sufficient balance to cover both the previous and current fees. When you scan the bike console screen, it will display "Deduct N dollars, Balance N dollars." After completing the deduction, you can proceed to rent using the electronic ticket again.

(2) "Incorrect Card Deduction": This message means that you used electronic ticket A to rent the bike, but used electronic ticket B for the payment upon return. Please return the bike to the dock first and ensure the bike console screen displays "Welcome to YouBike 2.0," indicating a successful return. When renting with electronic ticket A next time, the bike console screen will show "Deduct N dollars, Balance N dollars," deducting


3.Temporary Parking and Locking of Bicycles
(1) When unlocking via scanning QR code, if "Unlock with borrowing phone" is displayed: This refers to using a different phone for scanning to unlock, or scanning the wrong bicycle. It is recommended to check the rental record through the YouBike 2.0 official app (Path: Log in as a member 
→ Member management → Card management → Transaction history) to successfully remove the bike lock.

(2) When unlocking via electronic ticket card and "Unlock with borrowing card" is displayed: This often occurs due to scanning the wrong electronic ticket card or the wrong bicycle. It is recommended to check the rental record through the YouBike 2.0 app (Path: Log in as a member → Member management → Card management → Transaction history) to successfully remove the bike lock.
