The Water Lantern Festival, held around November each year, is an important traditional festival in Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Laos, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and parts of Myanmar. Starting from 2017, with the help of these countries' diplomatic missions in Taiwan, Taipei City has been organizing the Water Lantern Festival. The aim is to help the residents of Taipei City better understand the cultures of these countries and to alleviate the homesickness of new immigrants, allowing the dreams of new residents to shine in Taipei.
