※ The Bureau of Labor Insurance
I. Important Labor Insurance payment information
1. If a new immigrant enrolls in labor insurance using a resident certificate, passport, or uniformed identification number before receiving a national ID card, the insured person or an assistance service can fill out the Application Form for Changes in Insured Persons, attach front and back photocopies of the national ID card, and provide the information from the previous enrolled insurance (English name and resident certificate or passport number) to the Bureau of Labor Insurance to apply for information amendment. The number of insured years prior and after the amendment will be combined.
2. If new immigrants use the Internet or an ATM to query personal insurance information, the person should send the aforementioned documents to the Bureau of Labor Insurance and renew the Citizen Digital Certificate. Because the Citizen Digital Certificate contains old information, if the old certificate is used to query personal insurance information, the data will not match up and the search will yield no information. If you also hold a Labor Protection Card and a Chunghwa Post debit card, remember to inform the issuing bank and post office of the information change. Be sure to stay aware of your personal insurance situation at all times; don't forget to exercise your rights.
3. To query personal insurance information, you can use the following channels:
(1) Query personal insurance information through the Internet (including Citizen Digital Certificate inquiry, Labor Protection Card inquiry, and the Bureau of Labor Insurance mobile app).
(2) Query through ATM using the Labor Protection Card.
(3) Query through post office ATM using the Chunghwa Post debit card.
(4) Query at the counter
(5) Query over the phone (only for the total accumulated years)
II. Important Labor Insurance application information
1. When a new immigrant who has received a national ID card for the first time is applying for labor insurance pension payment to the Bureau of Labor Insurance, the person should make sure that his/her national identification number has been updated with the financial institute for the provided bank account so that the remittance will not be returned.
2. In the event a new immigrant already applied for labor insurance pension payment from the Bureau of Labor Insurance before obtaining a national ID card, the person should actively provide photocopies of the national ID card to the Bureau of Labor Insurance after receiving it.
III. Important Labor Pension payment information
1. In the case of new immigrants who originally used the resident certificate to contribute to the labor pension but have received a new national ID card, their employers should apply for information change with the Bureau of Labor Insurance.
(1) New immigrants who joined labor insurance and are contributing to the labor pension should fill out the 3-in-1 Health and Labor Insurance and Labor Pension Insured Person Information Change Form (http://www.bli.gov.tw/en/) and attach photocopies of the front and back of the national ID card.
(2) New immigrants who only contributed to the Labor Pension (including self-employed persons that volunteered to contribute to the retirement pension), please fill out the Labor Pension Labor Information Change Form (http://www.bli.gov.tw/en/) and attach photocopies of the front and back of the national ID card.

IV. Important National Pension Insurance payment and payment receipt information
In the case of new immigrants over the age of 25 and under the age of 65 who have their household registered in Taiwan and are not receiving Labor Insurance old-age benefits, Civil Servant and Teacher Insurance retirement pension or Military Personnel Insurance retirement payments, and who have not joined Labor Insurance, Farmer Health Insurance, Civil Servant and Teacher Insurance, or Military Personnel Insurance, the Bureau of Labor Insurance will automatically place them in National Pension Insurance. Persons who joined National Pension Insurance and have paid insurance premiums may apply for Old-Age Pension Benefits at the age of 65, according to the accumulated period of insurance. Furthermore, if an incident happens to the insured while he/she is participating in National Pension Insurance, the insurance will also provide maternity benefits, disability pension payment, survivor pension, and funeral benefits.
V. Why do new immigrants who originally joined Labor Insurance using an Alien Resident Certificate or passport number start to receive National Pension Insurance payment slips after receiving a national ID card for the first time?
1. Persons who are insured by Labor Insurance are not eligible for National Pension Insurance. If you have a job and have joined Labor Insurance using an Alien Resident Certificate or passport number, be sure to request insured units to fill out the Labor Insurance - Application Form for Changes in Insured Persons once you receive a national ID card. Attach a photocopy (front and back) of the national ID card or transcript of the household registration and apply for information change with the Bureau of Labor Insurance to change the ARC or passport number to a national ID number. This will allow you to avoid receiving the National Pension Insurance payment slip while you are enrolled in Labor Insurance.
2. Furthermore, if you already received a National Pension Insurance payment slip, please do not worry. As long as the insured unit made the aforementioned changes, National Pension Insurance will renew the information and automatically cancel your enrollment and insurance premium.
VI. Important information regarding new immigrants who are receiving Survivors Pension Payment from National Pension Insurance

2. Furthermore, new immigrants who applied for Survivors Pension Payment and provided a personal bank account to the Bureau of Labor Insurance for remittance of payment should also apply to change the ID number with the post office or financial institution to ensure the remittance will be received.
