In order to assist new immigrants to successfully adapt to Taiwan society and to allow Taiwan citizens to accept multiculturalism, Taipei City Department of Civil Affairs established Taiwan's first Taipei City New Immigrants’ Hall in February 26, 2005, providing various services for new immigrants.
The new immigrants' hall is decorated with "home" as the theme, so new immigrants will feel like they are in their native countries. New immigrants can read newspaper and magazines, meet new friends from their countries, and even participate in classes. At new immigrants' hall, new immigrants will receive support and help others who are in need.

The establishment of the new immigrants' hall is the concrete result of government caring for new immigrants. It also shows that Taiwan welcomes new immigrants, will assist new immigrants to integrate into Taiwanese society, and start a new journey in their lives.
