I. Video Surveillance System
The Wanhua New Immigrants Center and the Wanhua District History Exhibition Center are equipped with 15 security cameras, with an additional 4 cameras installed in the Arts and Culture Classroom. Please refer to the attachment for detailed camera locations.
II. Access to Recorded Information
How can members of the public apply to access video footage from the New Immigrants Center’s surveillance system?
1.Members of the public (i.e., the data subject or an interested party), or non-investigative authorities, who have a legitimate need to access recorded video footage from the Police Department’s surveillance system for purposes such as identifying suspected criminal activities or other unlawful conduct, may do so in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, including:
Article 12 of the Taipei City Autonomous Ordinance for the Installation and Management of Video Surveillance Systems
Article 46 of the Administrative Procedure Act
The Code of Criminal Procedure
The Personal Data Protection Act
The Guidelines for the Handling and Use of Video Surveillance Footage of the Taipei City Government Police Department
2. Applicants should submit a request to the local police station with jurisdiction and complete the Surveillance Footage Access Application Form. After approval, footage viewing will be arranged and supervised by police personnel. Generally, footage may only be viewed on-site and may not be copied. If the footage may serve as evidence, further procedures will be handled in accordance with applicable laws.
