Before the new immigrants apply for ROC nationalization with Alien Resident Certificate, you need to apply for loss of nationality at original government or its embassies of ROC or authorized representative institutions. 〔Note〕：If the required documents are in foreign language, Chinese transcription must be attached. If the documents are made by overseas embassies and missions or authorized representative institutions, they must be verified by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If the documents are made abroad, they must be verified by overseas offices and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Re-inspection by Ministry of Foreign Affairs is unnecessary for those applied at overseas offices and approved by Ministry of the Interior through MOFA. Chinese transcription must be verified by overseas office and national notary.
