Preventative closure guidelines for Taipei City schools that have confirmed cases infected with COVID-19: Delta variant (C/9-5)

1. Preventative closure guidelines for Taipei City schools that have confirmed cases infected with COVID-19: Delta variant.
(1) In principle, if a school has a teacher or student that’s suspected to contracted COVID-19: Delta variant, the school can close for 14 days, however, the final decision should be made after the pandemic survey is completed.
(2) School should implement relevant pandemic preventative measures and submit a School Safety Report within 4 hours of the school closure to the School Inspectors’ Office and supervising departments.
(3) Conduct a schoolwide disinfection.
(4) Teachers and students that are in the same class as the confirmed case should conduct a 14-day home quarantine.
 
2. Preventative closure guidelines for Taipei City schools that have individuals come in contact with confirmed COVID-19: Delta variant cases.
(1) After the health authorities completed contact tracing procedure, a Home Quarantine Notification will be sent to all individuals that came in contact with the confirmed COVID-19 case.
(2) If a school has an infected case that is required to conduct a home quarantine, or an infected case with unknown source of infection, and other high transmission cases, the school can suspend the class for 1 to 5 days with the Department of Education’s approval. In case of preschool, the entire preschool can be closed for 1 to 5 days as a preventative measure. 
(3) The class or preschool should conduct online classes.
(4) The Department of Education may request Taipei City to activate preventative school closure depending on the situation of the pandemic. 
(5) Students that are in a preventative 
Students that are in preventative home quarantine are considered to be Delta variant secondary contact, and can leave the quarantine after 5 days and tested negative.
