Effective December 10, Taiwan to Remove Weekly Cap of Arrivals (C/11-3)

On November 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that given that there has been a steady decrease in the number of new cases across Taiwan and the domestic coronavirus situation has stabilized and been brought under control, effective 00:00 on December 10 (incoming flight's scheduled arrival time), it will remove its weekly cap of arriving passengers.

The CECC mentioned that the number of people entering the country continuously rises every week. In the past 7 days (11/21-27), there were 281 new cases imported, a decrease of 12.2% from the previous 7 days, also, the number of new domestic cases has gradually declined. In addition, considering year-end, Christmas holidays, and the Lunar New Year, there will be expected to be more entry and exit needs at that time. Therefore, the limit on the number of entries will be lifted to facilitate the people to plan their trip back to their hometowns in advance.

The CECC reminded that inbound passengers must cooperate with collecting 4 doses of home-use antigen rapid test kit at the international ports, conduct testing during the 7-day self-initiated prevention period; passengers with suspected symptoms 14 days before entry, please report to the airport of the CDC when entering the country /Port quarantine staff. Moreover, according to the assessment of the quarantine staff, cooperate with the saliva collection and inspection at the international port and give priority to return to the residence by anti-epidemic vehicles.

The CECC emphasized that with the opening of the border and the increase in several people entering, they will continuously monitor the detection of domestic mutant strains and subsequent epidemic trends, adjusting relevant strategies and epidemic prevention packages on a rolling basis. The public should implement relevant epidemic prevention regulations and maintain the safety of domestic communities together so that people can back to normal life.
