Located in southwestern France, Bordeaux is the largest wine-growing region in all of France, and the city is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. For as far back as the Roman time period, there are records of Bordeaux growing grapes and making wine. Today, Bordeaux produces 100 million bottles of wine every year, of which 87% are red wine. Bordeaux also produces white wine and sparkling wine.
Bordeaux Wine Festival (Bordeaux Fête le Vin) is held in June every two years. Besides the various performances and activities, you can enjoy, you can also buy a wine tasting pass, giving you the opportunity to taste many different wines. And of course, you can’t have a wine tasting event without authentic French food, the classic canelé, foie gras, ham, and cheese are all perfect items to pair with wine.
After you had your fill of beautiful wine and delicious foods, don’t forget to experience the elegant architectures in Bordeaux. Take a stroll along the Garonne River and take in the city scenery. If you’re lucky, you might even see light shows and fireworks.
